Title of Presentation: iTools for Early Childhood

Description: Early Childhood Chinese Language teaching is quite a challenging task in the 21st Century. As kids have been exposed to a much more digitized world compared to our years in the past decades, it is more and more difficult to arouse their intrinsic interest in learning by just using eye-catching flashcards and interesting props when teaching. While the world is fully filled by the "i-" tools, it is unavoidably teachers as facilitators should modify their ways of teaching in the "i-" or "tech-" direction, and to be as updated as their "i-" learners.

As frontline teachers who are keen on stimulating students' extrinsic interest and enhancing their motivation in learning Chinese as a second language, we would like to share our experience in teaching by using teacher tools to develop online digital learning objects. We hope that the young learners would be able to consolidate their learning both inside and outside classroom, provided with sufficient supportive self-learning resources related to what they are learning.

Our target participants in this workshop are beginners to using technology in early childhood teaching or anyone who would like to explore the possible ways of tech-teaching to pre-school children.
